Complete One celebrate as Newcastle is named the happiest city in the UK

As a company who are passionate about their love for the city they trade in, event promotions specialists, Complete One celebrated as Newcastle was officially named the happiest city in the UK.

According to a recent European Commission survey of 79 cities, from across the continent, Newcastle is one of the happiest places to live in Europe.  With 40,000 individuals surveyed in what was called the Flash Eurobarometer, the results showed that Geordies are among the most satisfied in the country with where they live, and Newcastle was the 10th happiest city in Europe based on a number of factors.

Newcastle led the way and secured the crown of happiest city in the UK mainly because of its quality of life, and the Geordies surveyed said they were “very satisfied with the life they lead.”  Newcastle was the most satisfied area in the UK with 56% of Tynesiders saying they are “very satisfied” with the life they are leading, while 37% of residents said they are satisfied.

Geordies were also the happiest in the UK when it came to household finances.  According to the survey, 84% of those questioned, reported that they were very or fairly satisfied, and Newcastle’s residents were the most satisfied with where they lived in the UK, and ranked the 15th happiest in Europe.

Despite some concerns about cuts to rural bus links and the Tyne and Wear Metro, 42% of Geordies said they were very happy with public transport, the ninth highest in Europe.  Speaking about the accolade, Dr Joan Harvey, of Newcastle University’s Schools of Psychology said:

“What we’ve got going for us up here is that it’s friendly, it’s got good shopping facilities and it’s got some really nice places all round it where you can go and have a nice time. Whether it’s the seaside or the countryside, it’s got a lot of positives about it, and you don’t have to sit around in traffic jams all the time.”

Complete One is an outsourced sales and marketing company, specialising in customer acquisition through in-person promotions at events and venues throughout the North East. In a world of ever advancing technologies, the firm offers their clients something that is often lacking in today's impersonal digital world, interactive and personalised marketing solutions. The firm believes it is their direct approach, using the human element that has been the catalyst for their success.  Formed in 2012, Newcastle was where it all began for Complete One and where the firm’s flagship office remains.

“Although I grew up in Bishop Auckland, Newcastle has very much become my home. It’s a cracking city with great people and it’s a brilliant place to run a business,” said Managing Director at Complete One, Glen Lowes.
