Cultivate a Culture of Happiness Using Complete One’s 5-Step Guide

Direct marketing and sales specialists, Complete One attributes their continued success to their company culture. The Newcastle-based firm is encouraging companies to cultivate a culture of happiness using their 5-step guide.

Research undertaken by economists at the University of Warwick reveals that happy workers are 12 percent more productive than the average worker, while unhappy ones are found to be 10 percent less productive. Outsourced direct sales and marketing company Complete One has always seen a close connection between happiness and productivity and is investing a great deal into creating a working environment, which promotes happiness. Glen Lowes, Managing Director of Complete One, says: “While many companies focus a lot on innovation and results, some seem to forget that happier people perform much better than unhappy ones. Being on their way to becoming one of the UK’s market leading direct sales and marketing firms, Complete One explains how they spread happiness within their business by following these five steps:

1. Listen to what they have to say
People want to feel that their opinions and hard work are valued. Complete One finds it important to say how much their workforce matters to them. In addition to that, the firm says that business owners should show their appreciation daily through action, for example letting people attend important meetings to feel involved, giving them some time outside the office and having an open door policy, being there for them.

2. Implement an incentive programme
Complete One insists that incentives increase motivation and encourage workers to achieve better results as they push further in order to make these incentives more attractive for them.  “Incentives are not just beneficial for the workforce, but increase greater financial results for the business,” explains Glen Lowes of Complete One.

3. Let them understand their impact
People make an important impact on the business. They are the ones meeting with customers and representing the company. Complete One, therefore, recommends communicating business goals to them. By introducing individual and team targets, people can understand how important their impact is on the business’ success. This makes them feel important and gives them a true sense of purpose and a feeling of satisfaction.

4. Make their day
Complete One has made it their mission to make everyone in the business smile at least once a day. “This is important and it encourages everyone to engage with each other,” states Glen Lowes of Complete One. The firm has made it a ritual to speak with their workforce, joke with them and listen to their stories. In addition to that, they do little things, such as bringing in coffee in the morning or bringing in chocolates.

5. Build trust
Businesses who foster a culture of trust throughout all levels are more likely to have a happy workforce that loves working with them. Complete One says it is crucial to be open with each other and also discuss new career growth opportunities with workers. “People will stay and feel happy if they have their own personal development plan and see how the business can help them achieve their personal goals.”

Complete One is one of the fastest growing direct sales and marketing companies in the North East. The firm specialises in customer acquisition through event-based marketing campaigns. The year 2016 was record breaking for Complete One, being awarded a sales and marketing award, expanding their client portfolio and breaking the £1 million turnover barrier. By continuously focusing on their people’s happiness, Complete One believes that 2017 will be an even better year. Their main objective is to extend their market reach throughout the country and open up in at least two further locations by Q3.

Managing Director at Complete One Glen Lowes was among an exclusive set of keynote speakers selected to address attendees at an industry conference this past weekend, with Mr Lowes speaking about personal branding.

Held at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead on Sunday February 12th, sales and marketing professionals from all over the UK had travelled to Newcastle to attend the event.

Building a personal brand is something that Glen has been focusing on since his trip to LA last year. During the transatlantic journey, Mr Lowes spent time shadowing two high profile entrepreneurs and business owners within the sales and marketing industry, and one of his biggest takeaways from that trip was the importance of building a personal brand. Upon his return, he made it his mission to start building his own brand.

The strides Mr Lowes has made in this area in recent months haven’t gone unnoticed, with the entrepreneur and business owner being invited to speak on the subject at an industry conference. “One of my biggest passions is sharing my expertise and knowledge with others, helping to advise and guide people on their entrepreneurial journey and watching them make the transition from budding entrepreneur to successful business owner,” said Mr Lowes.

Attendees comprised of rookie sales and marketing professionals, as well as more experienced entrepreneurs and business owners. As well as information and advice on personal branding, there was a host of other guest speakers at the event, each speaking on a specialist subject. Guest speakers on the day included award-winning entrepreneurs and business owners from all over the UK.

The attendees were separated into two groups, depending on their development level. The itinerary for group one included business basics, goal setting, developing a winning mentality, mastering the art of sales, business development and fast-tracking the road to success.

Group two heard from speakers on topics including; how to build an A-team, coaching and mentoring, how to run successful business trips, the importance of building a personal brand, what it takes to be an entrepreneur, and the difference between being a leader and a boss.

Mr Lowes frequently attends industry events and has a number of upcoming speaking engagements.

Complete One complete proud sponsor of Newcastle Falcons player Sonatane Takulua

Complete One is delighted to announce the confirmed sponsorship of rugby union player, Sonatane Takulua, who is playing for the Newcastle Falcons.

Managing Director, Glen Lowes a huge Falcons fan was thrilled with the signing, which was a no-brainer deal for the local businessman who wanted to help contribute to the local economy. Only being a short trip away from Kingston Park stadium, the sponsorship deal further signifies Complete One’s favourableconnection to the city of Newcastle.

Sonatane Takulua is one of the most exciting players in the Aviva Premiership. In 2015 he was picked for Tonga’s fifteen-man Rugby World Cup squad, which was a dream come true for the Pacific Islander. The Newcastle Falcons signed Takulua from New Zealand side, Blues in 2014 and since then he has been a formidable force for the Falcons playing at scrum half.  Newcastle may be a long way from his homeland of Tonga but Sonatane Takulua has more than settled into the Geordie lifestyle, and Complete One hopes to be a part of his sporting career for a long time to come.

The partnership between Complete One and Takulua is a special and unique one. Being a Newcastle-based firm, Glen Lowes states; “we all rally around and support the Falcons, watching all the games together as a team. It brings the workforce closer together, boosting morale.” Creating a partnership between activities and business is a great combination that allows for team building and bonding, the latter being a prerequisite for building.

Bonding is the process of forming personal, friendly relationships between one another. when a comfortable bond forms between colleagues, team building will take its natural state, and the company will only enhance in its progress and productivity.  Glen Lowes has expressed the importance of positive and strong bonds within the workplace; “research has confirmed that a friendly, fun working environment increases productivity for not just the individual but the company as a whole.”

In 2016 Complete One broke the £1million turnover barrier, and now in 2017, the primary focus is to expand the Complete One brand and extend a market reach throughout the UK. As a direct marketing company specialising in below line customer acquisition, Complete One’s primary focus is to bridge the gap between client and consumers using events based marketing campaigns. Creatingpersonalised, tailor-made marketing strategies that guarantee high ROI is a quality that is highly sought after by brands. Having such successful sportsmen such as Sonatane Takulua on their side not only emphasises Complete One’s sense of togetherness within the team and its clients but also help to enhance the company’s relationship with its local city of Newcastle.
