Complete One inspired by Leicester City’s Premier League win

At the beginning of the 2015/2016 Premier League season, Leicester City were a staggering 5000/1 bet to win.  However, after the 2-2 draw between Chelsea and Tottenham on May 2nd , the underdogs clinched the title.  Newcastle-based event marketing firm, Complete One has been inspired by the Leicester City Story, and used it as motivation.

From 5000/1 outsiders to champions with two matches to spare, the Leicester City story is one of the most remarkable in Premier League history; and a feat that will unlikely be repeated anytime soon.  Highlighting just how inconceivable the Leicester City story is, the odds for Elvis being found alive were 2500/1, and the Loch Ness monster being found was 1500/1.  It is 21 years since any team out of the so called “big clubs” (Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City or Manchester United) have won the top-flight title. The dominance of the big clubs has been down to financial investments, and the constraints of others. English football has become a big-money business with billions of pounds being invested from TV deals, the latest of which is worth £5.136 billion (www.bbc.co.uk) and a continued increased spend from clubs in every transfer window.  It was considered unthinkable that any team could break the dominance of the traditional elite clubs, however Leicester certainly defied financial logic.

Managing Director at Complete One, Glen Lowes was inspired by the Leicester City story and used it as inspiration for one of the company’s morning meetings.  During the meeting Glen Lowes outlined all the things that were supposedly more likely to happen, and reinforced the fact that their win was proof that teamwork, dedication and hard work can overcome anything. “I am a massive football fan and Leicester City’s win was such a great result for the world of football, showing that in a very money driven time, hard work, determination and an unstoppable team spirit can overcome the odds. ”

Complete One is a young, ambitious and dynamic outsourced sales and marketing company, specialising in customer acquisition through in-person promotions.  Their expertise lies in increasing market share and raising brand awareness through face-to-face promotional marketing and sales campaigns, at high profile events and venues.  In a world of ever advancing technologies, the firm offers their clients something that is often lacking in today’s digital world, the personal touch.  In the highly competitive marketing industry, Complete One always promotes the importance of a strong work ethic, desire to succeed and working as a team.  The once in a lifetime Leicester City story is inspirational and Complete One are using that story to inspire and motivate their contractors to succeed.

Complete One host workshop on forming good habits

Event marketing specialists, Complete One, have been focused on forming good habits in order to meet their projected goals for this year, and last week the firm hosted an educational workshop on the subject.

2015 was a record-breaking year for Complete One. It saw the firm extend their market reach into Glasgow and Sheffield, and add two new clients to their portfolio, both household names in their respective fields, as well as receiving accolades at the 2015 Sales & Marketing Awards. The Newcastle-based event promotions specialists have big goals for 2016 as they look to extend their market reach into four new cities, and break the £1 million turnover barrier. Now in Q2, Managing Director Glen Lowes is focusing on habits, in order to boost productivity and output, which in turn will take the firm closer to their goals.

It is a common belief that it takes 21 days to form a habit and Glen Lowes, Managing Director at Complete One supports that theory. “Coming from a construction background, making the transition from a manual laborer to an entrepreneur in the sales and marketing industry wasn’t easy. There were many new skills I had to learn and habits I had to form in order to progress my career.”

At Complete One they believe that continued learning is imperative for business success, and this is a philosophy that the innovative, and rapidly expanding firm shares with their contractors. Last week, Glen Lowes hosted a workshop on habits, and how to successfully form new ones that will stick.

1. Make it a daily occurrence – In order for a habit to stick, consistency is critical. Activities that are done only once every few days are much harder to lock in as habits, whereas if the activity is carried out daily it has more chance of becoming a habit.

2. Start small – When trying to make a change, it can be easy to take on too much. Rather than getting bogged down with too many tasks, which will wear someone thin, the key to making a change is to take on one task at a time.

3. Be consistent – Consistency is the driving force of success. If someone is consistent in their attempts to form new habits, their success rate is likely to be much higher.

4. Write it down – Having a visual reminder can prove to be very powerful.  By writing something down it makes an idea clearer and easier to focus on the end result.

5.Make it personal – The habits should be personal and assist in someone achieving their goals. Trying to form habits that are considered important, but not necessarily relevant will not stick. Habits should be geared towards an individual’s goals and the things that motivate them.

The most successful people have formed positive habits, which contribute to their success, and MD at Complete One, Glen Lowes has formed many of his own habits, which helps him to grow and prosper as an entrepreneur and business owner.

Newcastle-based event marketing firm, Complete One are currently focusing on the formation of good habits and it is something they have made a theme for the week. As a firm that is committed to the development of the people they work with, constantly providing educational opportunities to further their business development is an integral part of their success.

They have a strong client history that has included several of the UK's leaders within the Charity, Finance, Online Film & Media and Telecommunications sectors.  Through the creation of good habits, Complete One has gone from strength to strength since they launched in 2012, and they attribute much of their success to their strong habits.

Complete One Director Glen Lowes Explains Why Not Everyone is Cut Out for Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship is becoming an ever-more popular career choice, thanks in part to TV shows such as The Apprentice and Dragons’ Den.  The Managing Director of sales and marketing firm Complete One outlines why not everyone is destined for entrepreneurial success and shares what it is takes to succeed in a fast-paced, competitive business environment.

Entrepreneur and Managing Director at Complete One, Glen Lowes has vast experience working with budding entrepreneurs, coaching and mentoring them. In his role as MD at Complete One, Glen Lowes has a proven track record for developing many budding entrepreneurs into successful businessmen and women. Glen Lowes believes that not everyone can be an entrepreneur, and that whilst he does support the idea that everyone has the potential, not enough people have the focus, drive and desire to take on entrepreneurship and win.

Here the business owner discusses the three personality traits necessary to be a successful entrepreneur.

1.    Willpower
The initial period of excitement can soon ware off once the reality of the day to day running of a start-up kicks in. Getting a start-up off the ground and making sure it beats the odds survives the first year can mean sleepless nights, having little or no money and having to overcome an endless number of obstacles.
Through sheer willpower, the most successful entrepreneurs are able to become problem solvers and turn what started as an impossible dream into reality.
2.    Resilience
It can often take multiple attempts for success to be achieved. The most successful entrepreneurs will have hit walls, and been told ‘no’ multiple times. World-renowned author of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling was turned down by 12 publishers before Bloomsbury picked it up for an advance of just £1,500. The series went on to sell more than 450 million copies worldwide.

Successful founders need thick skin and the ability to bounce back from failure. Failure is an inevitable part of life and the most successful entrepreneurs learn from those failures and make sure not to fall into the same traps in the future.
3.    Decisiveness
Decisiveness is what separates the average from the extraordinary. It can be hard to make tough decisions that might be unpopular, however it is an important step in becoming a successful entrepreneur. When making critical decisions, entrepreneurs cannot afford to over-analyse or hesitate as indecision can leave the outcome to chance, thereby handing the advantage to a competitor.
Newcastle-based events promotions firm, Complete One help people within the industry to fulfill their entrepreneurial potential. As supporters of entrepreneurship, Complete One offer unrivalled business development opportunities to the people they work with. The firm provides opportunities for their contractors to learn all aspects of their internal workings as well as providing them with the skills and knowledge in the following areas: campaign management, client relations, finance, HR, motivational and public speaking, sales and marketing strategies.

For graduates, the hard work that they have invested into their time at university is about to be put to the test as they attempt to integrate themselves into the business world. Complete One host future business owners R&R weekend

Managing Director at Newcastle-based event promotions firm, Complete One, Glen Lowes, has hailed the success of the firm’s first future business owners event, and believes it will now become an annual event in the firm’s business calendar.

Glen Lowes decided to host the event to bring together the top talent at Complete One, and their business associates in Edinburgh and Sheffield, recognising the rising stars and the top performers. The decision to host the event was spurred by the idea of providing some much needed R&R time as well as an opportunity for attendees to build relationships outside of the office environment, and interact with fellow sales and marketing professionals who are on the same entrepreneurial journey.  “My main objective for the future business owners event was to recognise those individuals who are doing a great job, and to host a fun and relaxing weekend where they could unwind and get to know each other on a personal as well as professional level,” commented Glen Lowes.

Hosted at Felmoor Park in Northumberland over March 18th to 20th, just a short distance from the firm’s headquarters, the location provided a surrounding of idyllic scenery, and a quiet getaway with cabins and hot tubs. While there was no strict itinerary for the event, with the emphasis more on fun and relaxation, there was a slight business theme, with the business owners in attendance running educational workshops with tips on personal development and networking. Networking was an especially important topic as the weekend presented an incredible opportunity for the budding entrepreneurs to build a solid networking portfolio.

The feedback Glen Lowes has received since the event has made him extremely hopeful that this will now become an annual event and will continue to grow, year on year.

Is there such a thing as a ‘secure job’ in the modern era? Asks Complete One

With news breaking last week that energy firm, Npower would be cutting 2400 jobs in the UK by 2018, Newcastle-based outsourced sales and marketing company, Complete One, have asked, is there such a thing as a ‘secure job’ in the modern era?

Speaking about the announcements of the cuts, Unison said that it would be a "devastating blow" to communities across the UK.  Npower currently employs 11,500 people in the UK, 6668 of which are employed on a full-time basis and the cuts will affect both their contracted staff and employees. While job losses at specific sites have yet to be confirmed they are expected to be spread across offices, including some in the Midlands and in the North of England which was of particular interest to Complete One as a company based in the North East.

There are now few people who will enter the job market and stay with the same firm until retirement.  Budget cuts, companies moving jobs abroad and the constant developments in technology now means that a long term position with the same firm is unlikely. Complete One are of the belief that secure jobs no longer exist.

Managing Director at Complete One, Glen Lowes, was formerly a carpenter.  When the country suffered a massive financial decline in 2008 - going into a recession - the building trade was hit hard, leaving thousands jobless, including Glen Lowes.  It was then that Glen Lowes was forced to make a change, so he made the decision that he wanted to be the one in control of his future and not be reliant on anyone else.  Speaking about his role as a business owner, Glen Lowes said: “One of the things I love most about being my own boss is having total control over my future. How far I am able to take Complete One, and my earning potential is totally dependent on me, and that is something that having experienced, I would never want to give up.”

As customer acquisition specialists, Complete One is fortunate to be in a recession proof industry as they provide the one thing that companies continue to need, despite the economic climate, new customers.

Npower isn’t the first and it won’t be the last massive firm to make cuts to its workforce.  Even as the country is slowly making its way out of recession, firms still continue to make cuts and the so-called ‘secure jobs’ continue to go.

Complete One is a young, ambitious and dynamic outsourced sales and marketing company based in the heart of Newcastle City Centre.  At Complete One they specialise in customer acquisition through pop-up promotional events at venues throughout the UK.  In a world of ever advancing technologies, the firm offers clients interactive and personalised marketing solutions.  At Complete One they believe it is their direct and personalised approach that has been the catalyst for their success.  As supporters of entrepreneurship, Complete One promotes the idea of ‘being your own boss’.  The recent announcement from Npower is one of many in recent years.  Complete One believes that individuals should take back control and be their own boss.
