Complete One: Why a first job in sales is a step in the right direction

Now in graduate season, Newcastle-based outsourced sales and marketing experts Complete One are advocating for graduates to begin their career with a job in sales, highlighting three main skills that it can bring.

Since they launched in 2012, Complete One have acquired vast experience working with graduates, and they have successfully coached and mentored many of those graduates, assisting them to become successful businessmen and women.

The sales and marketing specialists argue that besides the ability to sell being the most sought after skill in the world, working in sales can teach many critical skills:

1. The art of selling

Complete One argue that no matter the industry, there is always an element of sales involved. “Whether you are selling a product or selling yourself, sales is everywhere,” commented Glen Lowes, Managing Director at Complete One. A survey of business leaders conducted by Hult International Business School revealed that strong sales skills was a top 10 critical skill of today’s workplace.

2. Communication skills

Gaining the confidence and ability to be able to communicate ideas and speak eloquently is important in any career. As with any skill, practice makes perfect, and a sales job is the perfect profession to master that skill. Complete One believes that sales also helps individuals learn how to speak to, and connect with different types of people – something that is borderline essential in business. “Great leaders have the ability to inspire through speech, and this is one of the best things that sales teaches you,” commented Mr Lowes.

3. Confidence

“Sales will force people out of their comfort zone and build their confidence,” claims Mr Lowes. The entrepreneur and business owner argues that closing deals and getting better at sales will help instil confidence. "Being able to speak to strangers and turn them into customers is a huge confidence booster and in both personal and professional ventures, confidence is a highly valuable tool,” commented Mr Lowes.

Complete One is one of the leading direct marketing and sales companies in the North East. The ambitious and dynamic firm specialise in customer acquisition through in-person promotions.  Their expertise lies in increasing market share and raising brand awareness, for their client portfolio, through face-to-face promotional marketing and sales campaigns. As graduates begin to make the transition from education into business, Complete One is encouraging them to make sales their first job.

Complete One How We're Helping to Create Entrepreneurs, Not Small Business Owners

All too often people confuse entrepreneurs and small business owners; Complete One has shared how they are playing a part in creating a new wave of entrepreneurs and adding significant value to the world of business innovation.

As a nation, we are becoming fixated on labelling anyone who is involved in business as an entrepreneur.  A small Business Owner and an entrepreneur are in fact two single unrelated titles.  With vast research centred around traits and characteristics of an entrepreneur, the title is belonging more to an individual who is always on the lookout for more. More knowledge, more expertise and more wealth.  Whereas a small business owner instead, is often focussing on developing customer solutions and creating a sustainable business model. They do this through methodical practices centred around the sustainability of the business model.

Entrepreneurship can be classified as a lifestyle as opposed to a career choice.  With high correlations between behaviours and often isn't considered an option, instead of an innate thought process.  Entrepreneurs are measured on their creativity, risk taking the excitement and their ability to shape or future through change.  As a society, Complete One entrepreneurial supporters believe it is time to disassociate the two entities to ensure that each party is offered the correct support to reach their potential.

Complete One is one of the fastest growing sales and event marketing firms in the North East and is experts in helping businesses boost their ROI and gain a positive reputation on the market. Through face to face consumer communication, the firm can aid their clients in understanding each customer as an individual and works with them to provide a personalised service which encourages greater brand loyalty.

Through their tailored business development opportunity, Complete One can contribute mentoring opportunities to the North East's entrepreneurs.  Glen Lowes is keen to offer support and guidance to ensure entrepreneurial capabilities are surrounded by an environment which encourages creativity and organic situations which allow risk taking abilities to be tested and rewarded.  The firm has assisted many successful entrepreneurs across the country.  They can establish themselves in the business world through the company's vast network of sales and marketing specialists.  The firm also boasts an impressive database of clients, and Complete One have become a firm favourite with big brand company’s due to their diverse range of human resources, and commitment to developing innovative and winning campaigns.

Complete One get inspired by Gary Vaynerchuk’s “what to do after college” speech

As graduate season approaches, Newcastle-based outsourced sales and marketing specialists Complete One have been inspired by American serial entrepreneur.

Complete One appreciates the fresh ambition and enthusiasm that graduates bring to a business and they have a proven track record for developing aspiring professionals into successful businessmen and women. They do this by being able to inspire them.

Gary Vaynerchuk is a four-time New York Times bestselling author, speaker and internationally recognised internet personality. His YouTube channel has over 730,000 subscribers. One of his videos targeted towards new graduates captured the attention of Managing Director at Complete One Glen Lowes. The outsourced sales and marketing specialists hold a daily morning meeting, with the objective to educate and motivate their staff and contractors, and this week the “what to do after college” speech was the inspiration for one of the firm's meetings.

In the video, Vaynerchuk explains to new graduates that they have a five year window and that now is the time for them to be massively risk-orientated and not to play it safe. Vaynerchuk argues that the early twenties are a time when people can grind at their highest levels, and put in 18 hours a day to make the life that they want. Vaynerchuk encourages graduates not to go practical and safe and states that it is the time for them to attack the life they want.

“This is the best, and easiest five years of your life, it’s time to attack what you love and want to do because you have no real baggage. So many people are hungry for short-term gains. You only get to live life one time; it’s time to understand what is happening and map behaviour for something that will impact you for the next 80 years of your life, ” states Gary Vaynerchuk.

Complete One is an outsourced sales and marketing firm based in Newcastle. The firm specialises in a personalised form of direct marketing, which allows them to make long-lasting connections with consumers on behalf of their clients’ brands.

Graduates play a major role in the company’s continued success, and the morning meeting had a significant impact on the graduates at the firm.

Complete One’s prediction comes true as Newcastle United win promotion to the EPL

After Newcastle United were relegated into the Championship last season, Managing Director at Complete One, Glen Lowes predicted that Rafa Benitez would guide the club straight back to promotion.

With their headquarters in Old Eldon Square, Complete One are just minutes away from the home of Newcastle United - St James’ Park. The Newcastle-based events marketing specialists have a keen interest in the fortunes of Newcastle United and were disappointed when they were relegated. The firm is passionate about sport and believes that success in business and sport requires many of the same attributes; a strong work ethic, will to win, commitment to being the best and a good coach.

Mr Lowes was confident that experienced coach Rafa Benitez would lead Newcastle United back into the English Premier League. Benitez had a track record of success in England, previously guiding Liverpool to a historic Champions League win in 2005, in a game dubbed ‘the miracle of Istanbul’. He also led them to victory in the FA Cup in 2006 before taking them to the Champions League Final again in 2007.

Speaking at the time of the relegation, Managing Director at Complete One Glen Lowes commented, “It’s going to be an exciting season next year, Newcastle United have failed to live up to the fans’ expectations for many years now. However, with Benitez at the helm, I am quietly confident that the side will regain their place in the EPL next season.”

Newcastle United secured their return to the top flight with a 4-1 win at home to Preston North End. That victory saw the side sitting second in the league to Brighton and Hove Albion, however, a run of results saw The Magpies jump to first and clinch the title.

Newcastle is a city that lives and breathes sport and having Newcastle United back in the EPL next season is a massive boost. At Complete One they are big sports fans, the firm is an official sponsor of Rugby League side Newcastle Falcons.

“I am a strong believer than many of the attributes that make a successful sports team can be transferred into the business world, and we currently work with many athletes and sports enthusiasts who are proving that theory,” said Mr Lowes.

Complete One is of the fastest growing event-marketing companies in the North East, specialising in customer acquisition through in-person promotions.  Their expertise lies in increasing market share and raising brand awareness through interactive and personalised marketing and sales campaigns, at high profile events and venues.  The firm are big sports fans and look forward to cheering on Newcastle United in the EPL next season.

Director at Complete One in attendance for Newcastle Falcons last gasp winner

Complete One’s Glen Lowes was given VIP tickets to attend the Newcastle Falcons Vs Gloucester on Friday April 7th, as part of the firm's official sponsorship deal.

Complete One secured the sponsorship with the Newcastle Falcons in October 2016. The deal came to fruition when Mr. Lowes began exploring sponsorship opportunities within the local community to gain exposure for the Complete One brand, as well as strengthening the firm’s connection to the city of Newcastle.

One of the perks of the sponsorship deal includes VIP tickets to select games. The 4-ticket VIP package includes a three-course dinner, drinks and a meet and greet with the players. As an avid sports fan, Mr. Lowes is thrilled to have an association with the Newcastle Falcons, and has revealed the impact the sponsorship has had at the firm, stating “we’ve seen a real boost to our team spirit. We all get together to watch as many games as we can, and it has proved to be an excellent tool for team bonding. Sport has the invaluable power to unify people,” said Mr. Lowes.

As part of the company’s sponsorship package, Complete One also receive a number of other perks including; a signed shirt, hospitality tickets, a stadium announcement, company name and logo advertised on the big screen during games. Complete One’s name can also be found in the player biography sections of the match day programme, on stadium announcement’s when a player scores, on match day tickets to a game of Mr. Lowes choice, and finally they are sponsoring scrum-half Sonatane Takulua.

It was an important fixture as the Falcons, sitting in ninth place in the Aviva Premiership, took on the team one place above them, Gloucester. Gloucester looked to have sewn things up, leading 14-10 with 15 minutes to go after tries from Jonny May and Tom Marshall, both converted by Billy Twelvetrees. However, the Falcons kept fighting, and Fly-half Joel Hodgson kicked a last-gasp penalty seeing the Newcastle Falcons snatch a 16-14 victory over Gloucester at Kingston Park. The victory keeps alive the Falcons hopes of securing a place in next season's European Cup.

“It was a real battle with the Falcons showing a true never say die mentality, and playing until the final whistle. The team spirit and will to win was evident to see, and it is those same traits that we try to instil at Complete One,” said Mr. Lowes.

Complete One is a dynamic outsourced sales and marketing company that specialises in customer acquisitions through in-person promotions. The firm connects with consumers on a face-to-face basis on behalf of their clients’ brand in order to generate long-lasting and personal business relationships between brand and consumer.
